Chocolate Syrup Brownies 8/10
1 egg
1 c brown sugar
3/4 c chocolate syrup
1 1/2 c flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
dash of salt
1/2 c butter, melted
3/4 c chopped pecans or walnuts
beat the egg, add the sugar and chocolate syrup. sift the flour, baking soda, and salt together,
and add to the sugar mixture. then fold in the butter and the nutmeats. spread in a well-greased
shallow baking tin (9" sq pan) and bake in a moderate oven (350F) 35-40 minutes. cut while warm into small squares.
makes about 16 brownies

Notes: These turn out really good but I haven't found a suitable substitute for the chocolate syrup (for when I'm
trying to avoid processed, chemically enhanced foods.)
